Abstract

*This seminar will be conducted in Japanese.

It is expected that AI will be used to solve problems in the medical field such as overwork by medical personnel and improvement of the medical care quality. In September 2019, Japan’s first deep learning medical device program was approved for use in medical devices. The introduction of such a system is gradually beginning. However, there are still many obstacles, including a lack of know-how, for healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to develop and implement AI.

In order to promote the implementation of AI in clinical settings, the seminar series has promoted communication among stakeholders among physicians, medical professionals, AI developers, users, and policymakers by sharing current information on AI and ICT. In this symposium, we will invite stakeholders working on AI development, implementation, and education in the medical field as speakers, and discuss what should be done and what needs to be done to realize a valuable AI implementation in the medical field.
