Center of Excellence in Health Risk Assessment for Adaptation to Climate Change
This center is funded by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Core-to-Core program. We aim to establish network-based research centers for health risk assessment for climate change adaptation in Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
About
Center Brief
The center will promote academic research focused on the health area affected by climate change through joint research and human resource exchange, and integrate the results through seminars. The activities of this center will promote research on the health effects of climate change, and will not only consolidate the results in Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, but will also increase the capacity of young researchers involved in this activity, and will only work in three countries. Rather, it aims to be the centerpiece of climate change health risk research in Southeast Asia. Linking science with policies, not just academic activities, will greatly contribute to the country’s climate change adaptation policy (health risk field).
