IARU: International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU), a collaborative initiative of 11 top research universities worldwide, including the University of Tokyo, dedicated to fostering educational and research partnerships to develop future global leaders, is pleased to announce the Ageing, Longevity, and Health (ALH) Group’s conference to be held at the University of Tokyo from October 16th to 18th, 2023.
Since 2012, the Aging, Longevity, and Health (ALH) Initiative, under the umbrella of IARU, has been actively engaged in collaborative research and active discussions related to aging and health. Institute for Future Initiatives (Gerontology: Planning The 100-Year Life Research Unit) and Institute of Gerontology are participating in these efforts by hosting and participating in international workshops, as well as facilitating the exchange of junior researchers.
This conference aims to promote the development of future leaders and networking among students and junior researchers in the ALH field, and is hosted annually on a rotating basis by member universities. It also seeks to deepen collaboration on global issues related to an aging population, longevity, and the ideal characteristics of region-specific communities.
This conference will see the participation of senior faculty, students, and junior researchers from universities such as Australian National University (ANU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Peking University, ETH Zurich, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, University of Copenhagen. The University of Tokyo will be represented by presenters from programs like WINGS-GLAFS, promising lively discussions and networking opportunities.
