IFI Director Kensuke Fukushi met UNU Vice-Rector Xiaomeng Shen
On May 17, 2023, United Nations University (UNU) Vice-Rector in Europe (UNU-ViE) and Director of the UNU Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) Xiaomeng Shen visited IFI in Hongo Campus, Tokyo.
After opening remarks by the IFI Director Kensuke Fukushi, Prof. Shen gave a lecture on “Climate risk, adaptation, and transformation research for a sustainable future.” She indicated a transdisciplinary vision of risk management, communication, and education. She highlighted the necessity of concurrent efforts in systematic transformation, as well as knowledge exchange that surpasses the boundaries of states, societies, and generations.
