Report on the pilot version of the Global Commons Stewardship Index (GCSi) was released

As a part of Global Commons Stewardship Project, which has been jointly implemented by the Center for Global Commons (CGC), SYSTEMIQ, Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and World Recourses Institute (WRI), the report on the pilot version of the Global Commons Stewardship Index (GCSi) was released. The report was developed by SDSN, the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, and the Center for Global Commons. Its overview will be announced during the panel discussion of the Tokyo Forum 2020 Online on 4 December 2020.

The Index is the world’s first comprehensive index which compares, assesses, and visualizes countries’ contribution to socio-economic transformation for sustainable development by quantitatively measuring country-level impacts on the Global Commons. It is expected to be a trigger and tool for social change toward sustainable development.
