Launch of CGC-NBS; an Industry-Academia Collaboration Platform for the “Nature on the Balance Sheet” initiative
The Center for Global Commons (CGC) is advancing the “Nature on the Balance Sheet” initiative, which aims to systematically assess the economic value of natural capital and integrate it into decision-making processes, including corporate financial statements. To ensure that the perspectives of Japan and Asia are reflected in international rule-making under this initiative, CGC has established the industry–academia collaboration platform “CGC-NBS Partnership Program.” With the participation of supporting companies, the program will promote empirical research on methodologies for natural capital valuation and reforms to market infrastructure, thereby translating academic insights into social implementation.
