Biography
Graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. Completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo, and holds a Ph.D.
Since 1997, had been working at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), serving as Head of the Climate Risk Assessment Section and Deputy Director of the Earth System Division, among other positions. In 2022, appointed Professor at the Institute for Future Initiatives, the University of Tokyo, and concurrently serves as Professor at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Lead author of the Fifth and Sixth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
