Resource Governance in the Global South Food Security in the Asia Pacific

Home to 60 percent of the world’s population, diverse geographical and ecological features, and countries with huge economic disparities, Asia Pacific is also a region experiencing substantial risks to its food security. This project focuses on how challenges posed by increasing urbanization processes and climate change stresses are impacting water and land geographies, food systems, and everyday living for food producers. It also analyzes responses by policymakers at local, regional, and international scales that are shaping policies and frameworks related to food systems and everyday living of food producers (especially small-scale farmers and fisherfolk). Our hope is to bring insights from the field through engagement with local communities and policymakers in order to contribute meaningfully to conversations on food security.
