Overview

The University of Tokyo (“UTokyo”) and Chey Institute for Advanced Studies (“Chey Institute”) co-host the international conference “Tokyo Forum” annually from 2019.

Under the overarching theme of the Tokyo Forum, “Shaping the Future”, this year’s forum will focus on “Cultivating Humanity amid Social Divisions and Digital Transformation” and delve into discussions with distinguished speakers from Japan and abroad. We are planning new sessions including “Business Leaders’ Session” to discuss startup support with business leaders from Japan and Korea, a “Youth Session” with students from the University of Tokyo and Korean universities, and a “University Presidents’ Session” to discuss the role of universities in the age of digital transformation with presidents of top universities in Japan and Korea and the president of the United Nations University.

From the Institute for Future Initiatives, Prof. KAJIKAWA Yuya will moderate the Panel Discussion 2 “Bridging the Social Divide: How to Safeguard the Global Commons and Rebuild Humanity” on December 1 (Fri) from 15:30-16:30. We look forward to your participation.
