The effect of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) system on innovation today is becoming more and more complicated. Our research focus is mainly on the patent system and we make IPR policy proposals based on our research results. -

The sky is a strategic domain for Japan and globally, aviation industries that use the sky are important sectors in national policy. This unit aims to be the hub for next-generation sky-system research at the University of Tokyo. -
Nanotechnology Innovation
In order to advance nanotechnology research, a sophisticated approach is required to facilitate the formulation of innovative policy for research strategies and intellectual property management. This unit engages in such activity while working closely with other centers that conduct advanced nanotechnology research. -

Our research unit aims to improve the feasibility and quality of health policies by visualizing health issues through Data Health and by understanding the trend of its effective solutions. -

Our mission is to explore a holistic lifestyle design taking into consideration social factors and emotional factors as well as medical factors that all contribute to improved personal well-being. -

Our objective is to propose standard rules for data handling norms with respect to the combined use of personal information and physical space services to realise the goals sought by Society 5.0. -
Gerontology: Planning The 100-Year Life
This unit aims to design a sustainable community through 100-year life with multidisciplinary viewpoints to enhance independence of older adults and prolong a healthy life, which based on self-help, mutual assistance, and public assistance for early-phase prevention of frailty to care in a step by step manner or as required. -
Green Transformation and Innovation
Green transformation and the ideal form of innovation for it are major themes of the Future Vision, and as a research unit of the Centre’s Innovation Division, it aims to promote research and education for the realisation of a carbon-neutral and sustainable society.
