As climate change, sustainability and its associated social and economic impacts become more and more apparent, achieving a carbon-neutral society is an important issue for the international community and is positioned as one of the pillars of the action plan, not only for governments and companies, but also for universities.
On the other hand, the transition to a carbon neutral and sustainable society is a complex challenge that involves not only research and technological development, but also the promotion of new policies, institutions and business models, and a system transition that involves behavioural change, and requires not only academic analysis of these issues, but also the development of innovation models that make the system transition possible. It requires not only academic analysis, but also policy and corporate entrepreneurship and their cultivation, with implementation and execution of innovation models that enable systemic transitions.
Green transformation and the ideal form of innovation for it are major themes of the Future Vision, and as a research unit of the Centre’s Innovation Division, it aims to promote research and education for the realisation of a carbon-neutral and sustainable society.
- Research and evaluation of promising technologies for realising a carbon-neutral and sustainable society.
- Policies, institutions and business models enabling implementation of the promising technologies in society.
- Exploration and training of system-transitional entrepreneurs for green transformation
- Policy recommendations, social recommendations, and related research
