経歴

東京大学大学院経済学研究科教授、公共政策大学院兼任、金融教育研究センターセンター長、未来ビジョン研究センター グローバル経済リスクの分析と政策研究ユニット ユニット長、2021年度総長補佐。現在、関税・外国為替等審議会委員、東京経済研究センター理事なども兼任。
研究テーマは金融システムとマクロ経済の相互関連であり、これまで、Review of Economic Studies や Journal of Economic Theoryなどの学術雑誌に研究論文を掲載している。2014年まで、14年ほど、国際通貨基金にて、初めはエコノミストとして、後にシニアエコノミストとして、主に調査局で勤務をしていた。2011年から12年にかけては、マサチューセッツ工科大学経済学部で客員研究員もしていた。2000年にシカゴ大学より経済学博士号を授与されている。なお、東京大学経済学部卒業後、大蔵省での勤務経験もある。
