TITLE : Challenges of Sustainable Development for Renewable Energy Technologies

Abstract :
There are many challenges for the sustainable development of renewable energy technologies, such as the high environmental cost in the production process, high investment cost, and unclear social influence in the whole life cycle. So, how to evaluate the sustainability of renewable energy technologies? What are the key challenges of renewable energy technology development in China? This talk will share some findings on the exploration and evaluation of environmental, economic, social aspects of renewable energy technologies. Solar PV would be the key targeted technology as an example. Potential solutions to enhance the sustainable development for renewable energy technologies will also be discussed.
