Yousif Elsamani特任准教授
Yousif Elsamani is a Project Associate Researcher at the Center for Global Commons, Institute for Future Initiatives, University of Tokyo. His research lies at the intersection of technology management, innovation, and sustainability transitions, with a focus on advancing societal and planetary well-being. He studies how emerging technologies, innovation systems, and industrial transformation can be directed toward broader goals such as quality of life, sustainability, and inclusive development.
Combining conceptual and data-driven approaches, his work examines the links between technological change and social outcomes across multiple levels, from organizations and industries to national and global systems. He has developed well-being-oriented and multilevel analytical frameworks to explore topics including human augmentation, brain health, and the organizational and societal implications of technological change, generating insights for policy, strategy, and long-term transformation.
Before academia, he gained industry experience in manufacturing and technology development, working on engineering, innovation, and cross-functional project execution in multinational firms. This practical background informs his research with a grounded understanding of how innovation unfolds in real organizational and industrial settings.
He holds a Ph.D. in Innovation Science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
